(Demco) announced that it has bolstered its RV line by acquiring the complete Hijacker product line of fifth wheel hitches from Victoria Industries

(Demco) announced today (Sept. 7) that it has bolstered its RV line by acquiring the complete Hijacker product line of fifth wheel hitches from Victoria Industries.

The addition of the Hijacker product line – which includes fifth wheel hitches, hydraulic jacks and camper steps – will complement the existing Kar Kaddy and complete line of tow bar systems currently offered by Demco, according to the company. “We’re excited to have them, primarily because we’ve been looking to expand Demcos' product offerings and grow our customer base,” said Doug Northcutt, national sales manager for RV products. “Hijacker is a very well-respected name in the industry and we hope to grow that piece of the business in the United States and Canada.” Victoria Industries is closing down its business with the retirement of its president and CEO, Diane Watt. She will retire when the business ceases all activity, according to Wayne Mitchell, the operations manager for Hijacker. “We’re also on an island, which makes it more and more challenging all the time with overseas competition,” Mitchell said. “This was a good fit. Demco is a very honest, hardworking company and we were very happy when they had decided to approach us and take the line over. We feel that they’ll do a very good job at taking that line on and moving it forward to the place that it should be.” Victoria Industries has been manufacturing RV products and accessories since 1967. It began by making camper jacks and aftermarket camper steps and eventually transitioned into manufacturing its fifth wheel hitches in 1983. Demco occupies more than 320,000 square feet of manufacturing space in Boyden, Iowa, and employs more than 300 people. Demco serves the agricultural industry, trailer products industry as well as the printing industry, in addition to a strong presence in the RV market.

FMCA Rally 2010 Redmond has ended :)

Well another rally in the books. As we packed up our service trailer and show booth yesterday and departed beautiful Central Oregon I was thinking about how these types of events really help us understand our customers better. Our team gets to interact with customers that currently have our product and new customers who have just purchased a Demco product. The feedback we get on the Victory Series tow bars and the Demco car dollies is immeasurable. We had a great time at the rally and want to say a big THANK YOU to all our customers who stopped by the booth to say hello!

FMCA Rally 2010 Redmond, Oregon!

Wow! What a great start to FMCA's rally in Redmond, Oregon yesterday! The traffic and interest at our booth was fantastic and we look forward to another great day today. Please stop by the booth to see the Victory Series Tow bars and Kar Kaddy 460SS from Demco. We look forward to seeing you.

Second, Darwin Hulls came out to our rig and spent 1 1/2 hours refurbishing our tow bar; Third, during this time we were priviliged to have been taken on a complete and fabulous tour of yur facilities, Fourth, Scott Johnsen provided Darwin with extra pins and safety clips, a new cover for the tow bar.....All this at NO CHARGE to us!
We couldnt believe it. May we say that you have lived up to your mission statement/vision: STRIVE.

Kar Kaddy 460

I'm always amazed by our quality of car dolly. Today we had a customer specifically call our office to tell us they where hesitant to purchase a 460SS because of price but after a trip to Alaska and how easy the dolly was to use and how it held up under extreme conditions they cannot believe they had ever considered another brand. When you think best in class remember Demco Kar Kaddy 460SS!
